Unceded Territory known as New Brunswick is the home of 15 Wolastoqiyik and Mi'kmaq First Nations. Unceded means that the land was never legally ceded, or given up to the Crown, through a treaty or other agreement.
This flag depict our endangered gray wolf, 2 Atlantic salmon, of which 51% of the world's salmon comes from the Miramichi River. An indigenous fishing net. A first nations canoe with the 8 pointed star and fiddlehead curl. A paddle with Wabanaki curve design. The Red and Yellow colors represent the sunset we see here int he summer and the waves represent the many rivers and streams that carry and provide for us all over this unceded land.
